Ian Walsh

Ian K. Walsh

President and Chief Executive Officer

Ian K. Walsh jointly serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors, President, and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Walsh has served as Kaman’s President and Chief Executive Officer since joining the Company on September 8, 2020.

Prior to this role, Mr. Walsh served as Chief Operating Officer at REV Group, Inc., a leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of specialty vehicles and related aftermarket parts and services. Before joining REV Group, Mr. Walsh worked at Textron, Inc., where he most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of TRU Simulation and Training. Mr. Walsh’s career with Textron began in 1999 at Bell Helicopter. He progressed through leadership roles of increasing responsibility, including Senior Vice President and General Manager of Lycoming Engines and Senior Vice President and General Manager of Textron’s Weapon & Sensor Systems business.

Mr. Walsh is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and achieved the prestigious International Shingo Silver Medallion for Operational Excellence for his work at Lycoming Engines. Prior to joining Textron, he served as an officer and naval aviator in the U.S. Marine Corps. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College, a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Carroll Lane

Carroll K. Lane

Interim Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President, Kaman Corporation, Segment Lead - Engineered and Precision Products

Carroll K. Lane was appointed Interim Chief Financial Officer effective August 25, 2023. He will continue his role as Senior Vice President of Kaman Corporation and leader of the Precision Products segment and as Engineered Products segment leader.

In his role, Mr. Lane is responsible for the operational and financial performance of Kaman’s portfolio of engineered products businesses, including Kamatics, Bal Seal Engineering, Aircraft Wheel & Brake, RWG, GRW, and EXTEX.  Additionally, he is responsible for executing growth strategies that deliver innovative precision products and autonomous flight systems for U.S. and allied warfighters, as well as commercial customers around the world.

Prior to joining Kaman, Mr. Lane was President of Commercial Engines at Pratt & Whitney. He led the development, program management, and aftermarket operations of the company’s portfolio of large commercial engines. Mr. Lane has expertise in P&L management, strategic planning, and investor relations and spent close to a decade at United Technologies Corporation (UTC), now Raytheon Technologies Corporation. Before leading Pratt & Whitney’s Commercial Engines business, Mr. Lane served in positions of increasing responsibility with UTC, including Vice President of Investor Relations, Vice President of Pratt & Whitney’s Commercial Engines Aftermarket organization, and as a corporate strategy executive. Before joining UTC, Mr. Lane was a Director with CSP Associates, an Aerospace & Defense advisory firm in Cambridge, MA.

Carroll holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from Williams College. He also served in the United States Marine Corps as a Naval Aviator.

Richard S. Smith, Jr.

Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary

Richard S. Smith, Jr., an attorney with over three decades of corporate legal experience, was appointed as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary in January 2023.  As Kaman’s chief legal officer, Mr. Smith is responsible for advising the company on its legal and corporate governance matters; securities law matters; capital market transactions; mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; and regulatory activities and initiatives around the world.  Before he was appointed General Counsel, he was Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and Secretary.

Prior to joining Kaman, Mr. Smith had a 28-year career with Murtha Cullina LLP, where he was a partner and focused his practice on general corporate matters, securities law matters, and mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

Mr. Smith was listed in Best Lawyers in America® for Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Securities/Capital Markets Law from 1999-2012, he was also listed in both the Connecticut and New England Super Lawyers from 2008-2012. Best Lawyers® named him Hartford Lawyer of the Year in 2011 for Mergers and Acquisitions Law and in 2012 for Securities/Capital Markets Law.

He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1984 and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy Studies and Economics in 1981 from Duke University.

Roy Dilig

Vice President, Information Technology of Kaman Corporate and Bal Seal Engineering

Roy Dilig was appointed Vice President of Information Technology for Kaman Corporation on January 2023. Prior to taking on this role, Mr. Dilig served 12 years as Director of Information Technology for Kaman’s Bal Seal Engineering division. Before that, he held positions of increasing responsibility at the division, including Systems Development Manager and Programmer Analyst.

With over 25-year career in IT and IT management, Mr. Dilig has worked in business analysis, software development, and database development roles for The Walt Disney Company, United Airlines, and several other firms. He holds a B.S. in Applied Economics from De La Salle University, Manila, Philippines.

Kaman Morgan

Megan Morgan

Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer

Megan Morgan serves as Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer for Kaman Corporation. She previously lead Kaman Aerospace Group as the Vice President of Human Resources. Prior to joining Kaman in 2018, she developed global Human Resources experiences within the manufacturing and aerospace industries, most recently with Legrand Electrical Wiring Systems Division. Ms. Morgan previously served in a number of Human Resources positions with increasing responsibilities at Barnes Group, Inc. and PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she began her career in Assurance services.

In addition to her extensive HR and global business partnering skills, Ms. Morgan is also a skilled continuous improvement practitioner. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Villanova University and a Master’s degree in Organization Development from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.

Kristen Samson

Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

Kristen M. Samson, serves as Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Kaman Corporation. Ms. Samson previously served as Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Textron Systems, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at TRU Simulation + Training and Vice President of Marketing and Product Management at Lycoming Engines.

Ms. Samson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in consumer and business-to-business marketing, communications, branding and product management. Ms. Samson is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, and has a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has completed Executive Leadership programs at  Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Matthew Petterson

Matthew Petterson

Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Controller

Matthew Petterson was appointed Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Controller of Kaman Corporation in September 2023.  His responsibilities include managing external and internal accounting, financial reporting, and investor relations and serving as Kaman’s “principal accounting officer.”

Previously, Petterson held several positions of increasing responsibility in accounting roles within Kaman Precision Products, Inc. and Kaman Aerospace Corporation, subsidiaries of the Company within the Precision Products segment, most recently serving as Vice President – Finance – Air Vehicles & Precision Products and serving as Executive Director, Finance and Director, Accounting.

Prior to joining Kaman in 2021, he held several positions of increasing responsibility with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, serving many of the firm’s most prominent multinational Aerospace and Defense clients.  He earned a Master of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island – College of Business.

Lisa Barry

Lisa Barry

Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis

Lisa Barry was appointed Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis effective May, 2020. Lisa advanced through various finance positions at Kaman, including Director, Finance and Contracts at Kaman Air Vehicles and Manager, Finance at Kaman Aerospace Group. She started her career at Hamilton Sundstrand as a Government Accounting Associate and advanced over a number of positions of increasing responsibility at United Technologies, including Financial Reporting and Consolidation Specialist and Subsidiary Financial Controller, before joining Kaman in October 2015. Lisa holds a Masters of Business Administration from Quinnipiac University and a Masters of Science in Accounting from the University of Connecticut. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Finance from Fairfield University.

John Michelon

John Michelon

Vice President, Tax and Treasurer

John Michelon Jr. serves as Vice President, Tax and Treasurer for Kaman Corporation.  In this role, he is responsible for all areas of the tax and treasury functions, including financial reporting, compliance, planning, and risk management.

Mr. Michelon has a diverse background with experience in the retail, manufacturing, banking and insurance industries. Prior to joining Kaman in August of 2021, Mr. Michelon worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he served as a tax director within the managed tax services group. He has also served in a number of tax positions with increasing responsibilities at Movado, Praxair, Ann Taylor and General Electric.

Mr. Michelon is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University at Albany – SUNY.
