Kaman Mourns the Passing of Executive Kyle Ahlfinger

Jan. 27, 2015-- Kaman Corporation expresses its condolences to the family of Kyle Ahlfinger, who passed away today after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer.  Ahlfinger was an accomplished senior executive with more than 30 years of professional experience.  He joined Kaman in January of 2012 as the Area Vice President of the Minarik division, a subsidiary of Kaman Industrial Technologies.  He also was a member of Kaman’s executive committee reporting directly to the President, where he was responsible for the general management of the only national automation and motion control services firm of its kind.  Kyle was instrumental in the creation of our automation, control & energy platform strategy which was the result of combining Minarik, Zeller and Target Electronics into a cohesive organization and implementing plans for a common business systems and continued business growth within the automation space.

Prior to joining Kaman, he served as Corporate Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Flowserve Corporation, a global leader in fluid motion and control, from 2007 - 2011 and as Vice President of Marketing for their Flow Control division from 2005 – 2007 where he was responsible for Flowserve’s global strategic planning process, customer and market intelligence management and corporate commercial marketing, including the company’s award-winning web site.

Mr. Ahlfinger lived and worked in Europe and had extensive international experience, including Asia.  He also had extensive sales, marketing and business management experience in the Automation, Motion and Process Control industries during his 23+ years with Rockwell Automation, Honeywell Process Control and the Allen-Bradley Company.  Mr. Ahlfinger was also elected to the board of directors for the Motion Control Association in 2013.  He was a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering.

Kyle is survived by his wife Sandra, daughter Hailey Ahlfinger Herleman, her husband Matt Herleman, and their two children, Blaise and Laila Herleman, of Frisco, TX; daughter Christa Ahlfinger of Irving; his parents, Bob and Jean Ahlfinger of Atlanta, GA; his brothers, Keith Ahlfinger and wife, Jody, of Suwanee, GA, Randy Ahlfinger and wife, Candace, of Waxahachie, TX, and Mark Ahlfinger and wife, Kim, of Tucker, GA; his aunt, Judy Blanton, of Dallas, TX; and many other close family members and friends.

Kyle requested that donations in his memory be made to Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, http://fallenheroesfund.org, which supports wounded veterans. This request is an expression of his appreciation for the sacrifices of Al Oxford and others who served in the Armed Forces.
