Kelly Gay: Bringing New Talent to Kaman

Mar 12, 2020

Kelly Gay has been actively working in the Aerospace field for over a decade and most recently joined our Kaman Air Vehicles division in October as the SH-2G Program Manager.

Kelly began her career with United Technologies and has held a variety of roles while working within the Aerospace Field: F-135 Lighting II Program Specialist, Fuel Cell Laboratory Technician and Project Manager for the UTC Global Program Management office leading the merge between Hamilton Sundstrand and Goodrich.

In 2014, Kelly became the Supervisor for World Wide Repair in Windsor Locks, CT. She managed over 40 hourly employees while exceeding 95% customer service levels and managed the long-term engine maintenance agreements for PW2500, PW4000 and GTF customers within the European.

In Kelly’s most recent role prior to her transition to Kaman, she worked within Aftermarket Operations as the Repair Manager leading the network on GTF repair bidding. In this role, she drove discussions on capacity, repair capabilities and was the voice for designated service providers.

After working in aviation within the Military and Commercial side for air framers, Kelly eagerly wanted to bring her knowledge to Kaman to support helicopters. Upon joining, Kelly was excited to learn about Kaman’s culture. She toured each of the buildings on the Bloomfield CT campus and asked questions about operations, organizational structures and the company history. Within her first week she knew she had found her next corporate home.

Since her start, Kelly has been very engaged with the Employee Engagement Committee, the Social Media Team and has recently started a new Employee Resource Group within Air Vehicles which focuses on the veteran workforce, honor & recognition and military spouse engagement. Kelly plans to continue to learn more about the business, enhance the culture and drive process improvement initiatives surrounding the repair of repairable process.

“Joining Kaman has allowed me to carry through with my passion for Aviation. Knowing that I can support a product that saves lives fulfills my mission as a Military wife and I am excited and honored to be a part of the Kaman future.” – Kelly Gay
