Execution when it counts
from a dam in China to forest fires in Chile.

Whether contributing to safe, reliable power generation or helping to fight a natural disaster, Kaman delivers flawless performance under the toughest conditions.

On the Yarlung Zangbo River in China, a 320 megawatt hydropower dam will, when completed, deliver much needed power to the region. Critical to the success of this massive project are Kaman’s self-lubricating bearings on the dam’s gate systems. Using our proprietary KAron bearing technology, these bearings reduce maintenance costs, improve performance, and increase life in harsh environments. The gate system bearings represent the first sale by Kaman in the large and rapidly growing Chinese market.

Halfway around the world, when a chain of wildfires engulfed wide swaths of central and southern Chile in 2017, a K-MAX® helicopter flew to the rescue. This “Aerial Truck” can drop up to 28,000 gallons of water per hour, using a water source as small as a stream.
