Karon BX: Qualified to AS81820 Type A
Developed in the 1970´s, the KAron® bearing liner system has been repeatedly selected for use in the most demanding aviation, marine, hydro power and industrial applications.
Noted for its high performance and low wear rate, KAron has become an ideal replacement for most self-lubricating bearings. Its performance has proven superior in providing longer life and lower maintenance costs, even when operating in areas of high moisture, fluid/debris contamination and elevated temperatures.
KAron BX liner technology is Kamatics next generation of liners, providing longer life and improved friction under higher loads. KAron BX was designed initially with one goal in mind; meet the increased demands of SAE AS8120 Type A. After a 100,000 cycles at 33,000 PSI, Kamatics BX liner showed less than .003" of liner wear. This achievement led to our approval and confirmation that Kamatics BX liner technology is a game changer.
Kamatics’ drive to be the performance leader still left us asking, "Can BX be run to a 1,000,000 cycles and still meet the requirements of SAE AS81820 Type A?" After running BX at max load for 40% more cycles than SAE AS81820 Type A required, the bearing still met SAE AS81820 Type A and incredibly showed just .0045" wear.
Karon BX is the first molded spherical bearing liner to achieve this performance standard.
