Supervises the Accounting functions of the Global Aerosystems Accounting Services Group to ensure Kaman policies and standards are maintained.  Responsibilities include oversight and development of Accounting employees and communicating with all levels of Kaman management and employees.  Ensure compliance with Kaman internal control policies and practices.

  • Supervises daily productivity of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff of 7-8 staff and directly engages in resolving issues. 
  • Supervises/performs month-end and quarter-end closing activities and provides ongoing customer service, support, and open communication with other Kaman entities and Management.
  • Manages and/or reviews monthly journal entries and reporting packages for Aerosystems businesses.
  • Manages and/or reviews daily/monthly account reconciliations as needed.
  • Develops consistency in accounting processes by applying “best practices” and continuous improvement principles.
  • Assist Controller, Assistant Controller and Accounting Manager in ensuring compliance with company SOX requirements.
  • Works with internal and external auditors as needed.
  • Works with all functional areas to meet strategic goals and objectives.
  • Assist and/or manage business system enhancement projects.
  • Provides input into staff performance evaluations, leads by example, provides on-going coaching and staff development.
  • Ensures team effectiveness and collaboration.
  • Recommends thoughtful and achievable opportunities for organizational and performance improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Broad knowledge of a specialized field such as accounting or finance.
  • Excellent working knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
  • 7- 10 years in accounting or finance


  • Must possess good detail orientation and organizational skills; a focus on accuracy with respect to employee time and attendance records is critical.

  • Possess ability to work under high levels of demand while maintaining customer service orientation.

  • Proficient level of written/verbal communication skills; effective interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and develop business relationships with a diverse range of individuals.

  • Good analytical, continuous improvement and process orientation skills.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and their application in a financial setting.

  • Must qualify as a U.S. Person as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) in order to access export controlled technology.
